NRS is here to spread awareness on IPs policies and help business owners know their rights to own their IPs. We also work on bringing in more diversified Internet community, a community that allows every resource member to join, participate, and voice their interest in the internet policy making and internet governance. We want our members to be able to take back control of their businesses by truly owning their IPs.

What Is the Mission of NRS?

Why do we need to provide PoAs?

A Power of Attorney (PoA) lets us legally represent you. It's not just for the election. It gives us the ability to act together in the best interests of all members. Without PoAs, we lose that united legal voice.

But AFRINIC said they won't be using PoAs. Why?

AFRINIC didn't stop the election because PoAs are invalid. PoAs are a legal right under Mauritian law, and no company can take that away. What actually happened is that Cloud Innovation went to court, and the Receiver had to follow the court order. This wasn't AFRINIC rejecting PoAs, it was a legal process triggered by the court case.

If AFRINIC is shut down, are members' resources safe?

Yes, if we're ready. The more PoAs we hold, the stronger our legal position. With that strength, we can make sure members' resources stay protected and get transferred smoothly through the proper international channels.
